Hello to all readers and fellow FoW players!
it's me again JoeyJY
And i'll be your host today!
It's been a long time since me and Christ post a random article..
So i might post some as well..
As we can see, the 3rd booster pack is out around early of June.
The first thing i see in this pack is..
You get a heck upgrades for Fire decks.
Let's get more into it.
Firstly, this card
Crater Thorn Scorpion
Resonator
Cost : 2Fire
ATK 400/ DEF 300
<Continuous> When this Resonator is destroyed, deal 200 damage to target Resonator or Player
Can be used by replacing
Flame Beast Banmu
Resonator
Cost : 1Fire 1Other
ATK 400/ DEF 200
<Continuous> When this card is destroyed in battle, deal 200 damage to target Resonator
Why should Scorpion replace Banmu?
well in some cases :
1. you are playing Fire Direct Damage Deck, in which Scorpion effect can target Players and Resonators
2. Scorpion Effect activates just by being destroyed, not by Battle like Banmu has to.
3. The Def is higher, so you can block the ATK 200 attackers easily without losing it.
Why you SHOULDN'T replace Banmu
1. Banmu is a Beast, in which condition you play
Regulus to get its haste effect
2. Banmu costs 1Fire and 1Other, unlike Scorpion that needs 2Fire, Banmu can be used in Multi Elements Deck.
3. The Def is 200, so in case you need to destroy 2 Resonators at a time, just block with it, in which the Resonator blocked by it dies because of ATK 400 banmu has, and Banmu effect activates that can deal 200 more damage to other Resonator.
Now let's Move on to next card
Dragon's Flame
Spell : Instant
Cost : 1Fire
Deal 400 damage to target Resonator or Player
Have you heard of this card?
Fire Ball
Spell : Chant
Cost : 1Fire
Deal 400 damage to target Resonator
<Break> Deal 500 damage to target Resonator
nah, me neither..
Just kidding!! lol
Why you should replace Fire Ball with Dragon's Flame?
1. Dragon's Flame is an instant spell.. enough said
2. Can inflict damage to Players
3. BADASS
Why Shouldn't you
1. Fire Ball has <Break> Effect
2. That's it
Next card!
Manticore
Resonator
Cost : 1Fire 4Other
ATK 700/ DEF 500
<Flying>
<Enter> This card may attack on the turn it was Summoned.
<Enter> Deal 500 damage to target Resonator.
<Break> Deal 400 damage to target Resonator or target Player
Pros :
+ 1Fire 4Other is more than enough for any Multi Colored Deck..
+ Flying, haste, can insta kill 1 DEF 500 Resonator..
+ Has <Break> effect.
+ <Break> effect can targets Players
Cons :
- Poor ATK and DEF stats
- Well i'm not really into the art.. so..
- Too high cost for Aggro deck and Red Magician instakill Deck
Next card!
Giant of Burning Destruction Surtr
Resonator
Cost : 3Fire 4Other
ATK 1800/ DEF1200
When this card is Normal Summoned, it cannot be Chased by cards with cost 4 or below.
<Continuous> This card cannot be targeted by Spells and Abilities from a card with cost 4 or below.
<Continuous> At the end of your Recover Phase, send this card to the bottom of your Main Deck, unless you pay 2Fire and 2Other
<Continuous> When this card attacks, deal 800 damage to target Resonator. If the Damage exceeds the target's DEF, deal damage to the controlling Player equal to the difference.
<Break> Add this card to your Hand.
Pros :
+ Well this is a total addition to Fire Decks!
+ Can't be Interrupt easily
+ Can't be Destroyed easily
+ High ATK DEF stats
+ <Break> effect is good
+ <Continuous> effect makes him can shoot2 every turn, and also Pierce Inflict effect..
Cons :
- Too high Cost (you usually can use 3-4 cards that can inflict damage with 7Will, or summon many low costed Resonators..)
- Black Sun = Back to the deck
- Only useful if you can summon it. In other words, only useful if you have 7 or more magicstones
Next and probably the last card; and also my Card of the Week!
